This study explores the efforts undertaken by the Russian households to improve their material well-being and reveals everyday practices that they had to abandon in the year of 2022. It investigates how people changed their work, financial and consumer behavior since a new crisis began. The authors examine the impact of emerging difficulties on the physical and mental health of the people. They expose fears of the respondents and their capacities to plan the future. The research was implemented by the Laboratory for Studies in Economic Sociology of the HSE University. Data were collected from a representative nationwide survey of the Russian population, which was conducted in October 2022.
