Course Syllabus

Abstract

Neuroscience is a field that aims to understand the anatomy and function of the nervous system that includes the brain. This course will focus on the anatomical properties of the nervous system. It will overview a history of neuroscience and cover basic language and concepts in this field. The course will also cover mechanisms including molecular and cellular that bring about motor, sensory, affective and cognitive action, and milestones in brain development.

Assessment Elements

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Tests (5 in total) at the end of each topic
0.1 points each. The test will be administered at the beginning of some lectures and seminars. Tests will be based on the previous lectures and seminars' materials. Test topics will be as follows. Neuroimaging methods, EEG, EEG preprocessing, Event-Related Potentials, Time-Frequency Representations.
  • non-blocking Final project
each student will be given an EEG dataset that they will have to preprocess and compute the ERPs and the TFR. The final project should be done using Python and Jupiter Lab software.
Interim Assessment

Interim Assessment

  • 2024/2025 3rd module
0.5 * Final project + 0.5 * Tests (5 in total) at the end of each topic
