Religious life of the large part of the Orthodox Christians in contemporary Russia takes place outside religious communities, through pilgrimage tours and similar activities, which allow to experience religious feelings and a sense of belonging to the community of believers. The book discusses discourses and practices of the Orthodox nomads. Based on field and archive materials the book is intended for scholars working in the fields of religion and post-Soviet transformations, history, anthropology and sociology, as well as for the general audience.
