Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course provides an understanding of population migration as a demographic, social and economic process of great importance in shaping the world's population. The course will focus on theories and concepts that explain modern migration processes, differences in the demographic behaviour of migrants and the host population, the role of migrants in the labour market, and the organisation of migration and integration policies in countries around the world, with case studies.

  • The purpose of mastering the course “Human migration. Migrant adaptation and integration” is to form ideas about migration as a complex and multilateral socio-demographic and economic process, to become familiar with the main migration conceptions and data, to study the theoretical foundations of migration and integration policy.
