Theoretical issues of human migration. Human migration - concept and definition. Classification, kinds and types of migration. Sources of information on migration. Migration rates. Factors and reasons for migration. Migration concepts and classification of main scientific approaches. Migration and its impact on population and labor potential. Migration and population dynamics. Migration and its impact on the sex and age structure of the populationLevel of education of migrants and labor potential. Migration and ethnic processes. Learning Objectives
- The purpose of mastering the course “Human migration. Migrant adaptation and integration” is to form ideas about migration as a complex and multilateral socio-demographic process, to become familiar with the main migration problems in Russia and the world, to study the theoretical foundations of migration policy and management practices.

- Know the main statistical publications and databases on migration processes in Russia and the world Know how to use different data sources for particular types of migration: external migration, internal migration, temporary labour migration, commuting Know the advantages and disadvantages of individual sources of statistics on migration Understand the need for integrated use of statistics for migration Can Calculate selected migration indicators and explain their use in migration analysis
