Course Syllabus
Abstract
The Course aims to build awareness of the destructive potential of national cultural Stereotypes as a Psychological Phenomenon in the context of Intercultural Communication. Within the framework of interactive communicative strategies (workshops, provocations, case-study, provocative showcase, etc.) the Participants will learn to conceptualize and tackle the problem of Stereotypes exemplified in their specific professional (research) area. The Course finalizes with the showcase of collaborative research projects applied to the specific practical contexts of the chosen professional (research) areas.

- Students can define and analyze stereotypes through relevant theoretical frameworks.
- Students become aware of stereotypes' distinctive features and can identify them.

- Students are aware of cultural relativity and can establish and apply mindfulness in intercultural strategies.
- Students can identify cultural stereotypes in cases of professional intercultural communication and handle them effectively.

Interim Assessment
- 2024/2025 4th module5 Interactive activities and participations * 5 + 2 Collaborative research tasks * 10 + Workshop * 30 + Showcase program/Moderation/Extended feedback/Commentary * 5 + Essay *20 = 100. The grade is then converted to the 10-point scale in the following manner: Points gained / 10 = Course grade. E.g. You earned 78 points. You divide them by 10 and get 7.8 which is rounded to 8. So your course grade is 8.
