Abstract

The interdisciplinary course Understanding Conspiracy Theories will provide an introduction to conspiracy theories as a historical cognitive style of understanding and explaining reality, a form of everyday knowledge and explanatory model within everyday interaction, a persistent narrative structure of mass culture, a political tool, and a media phenomenon that gives rise to many contemporary media formats.
