Abstract
"This course is dedicated to the theory of Teichmüller spaces—a branch of mathematics that studies the spaces of complex (or, equivalently, hyperbolic) structures on a fixed topological surface. We will explore the geometry and topology of Teichmüller spaces, as well as their quotient spaces, known as the moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces.
Throughout the course, we will introduce the necessary geometric tools and give special emphasis to the connections between this theory and other areas of modern mathematics. We will discuss such key concepts as measured foliations, quadratic differentials, train tracks, and surface dynamics."
