Course Syllabus
Abstract
This course is designed to outline key features of policy advice and political consulting and their impact on governance. By the end of the course, students will know the key concepts of policy advice as well as the main actors in the field and their patterns of interaction.
Learning Objectives
- To introduce students to the concept of political consulting and its history, key issues of political consulting in the modern world
- To analyze various cases of lobbying, their political effects and ethical implications
Expected Learning Outcomes
- To apply specifics and features of political consulting in modern realities.
- To work in the field of political consulting: understanding the specifics of political communication, the features of campaign planning and the use of various media strategies
Assessment Elements
- Final Oral ExamThe exam will consist of questions based on the information covered during the course
- HomeworkHomework demonstrates the assimilation of information received in lectures and seminars
- In-class participationActive participation involves comments and questions based on the required literature, lectures and seminar presentations. Besides, group and individual exercises will be assigned at seminars.
