Abstract

The aim of this course is to achieve the skills of basic level Turkish. It contains the essential grammatical rules to understand the logic of the language, daily conversations for life, to meet Turkish cultural elements, to practice on the speaking skills intensively.

Learning Objectives

understand simple spoken and written Turkish in everyday situations
use basic vocabulary and grammatical structures to communicate on familiar topics
introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions, and exchange basic personal information
handle common everyday situations such as shopping, ordering food, asking for directions or making simple arrangements
read and write short basic texts, messages and forms in Turkish

Expected Learning Outcomes

discuss social, cultural and professional topics with a good degree of fluency
summarize, compare and comment on information from different sources;
write clear, structured and reasonably detailed analytical or argumentative texts in Turkish
describe past events, future plans, people, places and personal experiences
express preferences, needs, requests and simple explanations

Introduction to the Turkish Language;
Turkish alphabet, pronunciation, reading rules.
