Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course "Fundamentals of Financial and Legal Regulation in the BRICS Countries" is an elective discipline aimed at a deep understanding of trends in public finance law. The course covers legal, economic and social approaches to the construction of a government mechanism for distributing the national product in the BRICS countries, including the specifics of budget process, taxation, organisation of public audit, banking, and currency exchange in the countries. Methodologically, the course is based on the knowledge of national specifics of financial and legal framework in a comparative context, which allows students to better understand country financial and legal models and instruments and highlight the prospects for the development of public finance law in Russia. After mastering the course, the student will be capable to navigate the legal and financial systems in the BRICS countries and correctly conduct comparative studies. The course programme includes lectures, seminars, independent study of theoretical material to prepare for seminars and a training comparative legal project.
