Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course is designed to introduce students to the modern scientific concept of critical thinking. Critical thinking is one of the most important skills for successful professional development in almost any industry. At the practical level, the concept of critical thinking involves the development of complex cognitive skills such as: logical thinking, critical analysis of information, learnability, decision-making, solving complex problems, argumentation and persuasion, creative thinking (creativity), hypothesis building, overcoming cognitive biases, etc. The introductory course will provide students with an understanding of thinking as a process of human cognition aimed at discovering scientific truth, the most general methods of cognition, and working with virtually any material, ultimately enabling them to think more accurately and systematically.
