Course Syllabus
Abstract
The discipline “Practical course of Chineese. Intermediate Level” is taught to undergraduate students of the educational programme “Foreign languages and intercultural communication” starting from the A2 level. The main goal of the course is to develop students’ foreign language communicative competence at the B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Learning Objectives
- Development of foreign language communicative competence at the level of B1/HSK 3, which assumes the student’s readiness and ability to carry out everyday communication in Chinese on any topic and in any communicative situations and for academic communication in the most frequent simple communicative situations.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Produce generally coherent oral texts in Chinese on familiar topics, express their thoughts clearly, give brief explanations and communicate in most situations, including those typical for academic communication.
- Understand the main ideas and some details of spoken and written texts in Chinese, including those typical for academic communication
- Produce generally coherent oral texts in Chinese on familiar topics, express ideas clearly, give brief explanations, and communicate in most situations, including those typical in the field of academic communication
- Create simple written texts in Chinese on familiar topics, generally taking into account the rules of academic communication
Assessment Elements
- Classroom workThis element of control evaluates the student's use of a foreign language to solve various communication tasks in the process of direct interaction between the teacher and students in the classroom, including with the support of prepared homework.
- Current control module 4This element of control checks the current level of development of the student’s language skills and speech abilities and includes the assessment of phonetic, lexical, grammar tests, listening and reading tests and tasks, as well as oral and written speech products created by the student.
- Current control module 3This element of control checks the current level of development of the student’s language skills and speech abilities and includes the assessment of phonetic, lexical, grammar tests, listening and reading tests and tasks, as well as oral and written speech products created by the student.
- Final written testThis element of control evaluates the level of development of the student’s lexical and grammatical skills, listening and reading skills and abilities, as well as proficiency in written speech to solve various communication tasks.
- Current control module 1This element of control checks the current level of development of the student’s language skills and speech abilities and includes the assessment of phonetic, lexical, grammar tests, listening and reading tests and tasks, as well as oral and written speech products created by the student.
- Current control module 2This element of control checks the current level of development of the student’s language skills and speech abilities and includes the assessment of phonetic, lexical, grammar tests, listening and reading tests and tasks, as well as oral and written speech products created by the student
- Oral examThis element of control evaluates the student’s level of oral speech proficiency for solving various communication tasks.
