Abstract
This course is an introduction to contemporary Chinese politics with a strong focus on the reform period (post-1978). The purpose of the course is to provide a wide-ranging understanding of Chinese politics by exploring who governs and to what ends. Throughout the course, we will try to understand the structure and function of Chinese government and how this system responds to governing challenges. In so doing, we will help give you a structure and framework to use to analyze Chinese politics. The class will help students be more informed about Chinese political system.
