This study represents a thematic unity of historical and cultural subjects reflecting various aspects of traditional and modern models of how Eastern societies responded to the coronavirus crises and similar historical challenges. The principal goal of the research was to reveal the connection between traditional cultures and development models of Eastern societies with some distinctive aspects of the current crisis: the need to drastically limit face-to-face social contacts, increased attention to hygiene and health, as well as government measures to contain the virus and combat its spread.
The book is addressed to culturologists, historians, orientalists, and sociologists.
