The book is dedicated to the prominent Russian orientalist B.L. Riftin (1932–2012) and is designed to reflect the diversity of his academic interests and areas of professional activity. The research collected in the book is based on materials from the traditional and modern cultures of China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Mongolia and continues the tradition, established by B.L. Riftin, in studying the cultural interactions, the evolution of religious beliefs, mythology, ritual and divination practices, as well as literary genres.
