This book contains a series of essays on the history of education in post-Soviet Russia. Based on media coverage and his own observations, the author — a professional journalist — describes some of the key developments of Russia’s educational policy, and related debates and their participants. The author provides a lively and straightforward review of the critical steps in Russia’s educational reform, such as USE and SIFO, per capita financing and the new wage system, applied BA, subject-oriented instruction, and many others.
