This handbook draws on collaborative research work of three sociologists and their reflection on the experience of conducting fieldwork projects of the recent years.The authors designed the handbook as a guide to research activity in a manner of howto do it. An accessible language of the book, numerous examples of research practices and cases will allow early career researchers or students to undertake fieldwork.The first part of the handbook considers the issues of building a research design of a fieldwork project, elaborating the basic research instruments and getting access to the field. The second part provides the readers with a set of research methods, toolsand techniques of collecting relevant empirical data. The handbook is based on the examples of concrete research situations and empirical materials presented in chaptersand appendix. The book demonstrates the reader how to use such research resources, as online communities and networks, virtual data storage, photos and video content.
The handbook is addressed to a wider audience, including students, researchers, University lectures conducting fieldwork projects and teaching courses on methodologyand methods of social research.
