Аннотация

Modern philosophy of mind represents a unique blend of classical philosophical analysis and contemporary methods of scientific reasoning and research. On one hand, it stands at the intersection of foundational fields such as computer science, neuroscience, modern linguistics, and cognitive psychology; on the other, it is rooted in traditional Western metaphysics. Today, the philosophy of mind is one of the most popular philosophical disciplines in global university practice. By completing this course, students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with and form their own perspectives on both classical and cutting-edge problems in the field. The philosophy of mind is particularly significant due to its traditional inclusion in the core disciplines of cognitive science. Mastery of its primary reasoning techniques and general literacy in this area underscore its interdisciplinary nature and relevance for specialists across various scientific fields. The objective of the course is to enable students to formulate and defend their positions on abstract questions directly related to the current and future state of humanity. These include fundamental concepts for legal and ethical disciplines—such as human nature and transhumanism, and the moral and legal status of artificial intelligence—as well as traditional worldview and ethical issues like personal identity, free will, and the understanding of humans and living beings within the modern scientific framework.
