Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course "Communication Theory: From Science to Practice" covers key topics in modern organizational behavior. Leadership, motivation, organizational change, and innovation are the core elements of human resource management. The course explores how organizations and their employees can adapt to the economy of the future. What organizational design will be in demand? How will innovation change the attitudes, motivations, and strategies of people within an organization? Which leadership styles are suited to the digital world?
Learning Objectives
- Understand the variety of approaches to communication, theory and communication theory
- Define key stages of interpersonal communication and relationship development
- Distinguish critical aspects of the groupthink
- Distinguish key characteristics of persuasive messages and use them to create content
- Outline and asses critically media consumption patterns
- Compile approaches to social media
- Define key strategies in PR
- Be familiar with the evolution and main approaches in Critical tradition
- Outline key approaches to intercultural communication
