Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course aims to plunge students into the major trends of modern translation job development and to study relevant issues related to translation processes (including audiovisual and neural network translation), as well as to teach solving creative translation tasks. Students are given the opportunity to test their own research projects in digital and media translation as interdisciplinary ones, based on cognitive science and advanced technologies in modern translation industry. A distinctive feature of the academic discipline is its high application index: the method of interactive project-based learning involves active participation of each team member in group work to elaborate on a creative product. The course allows students not only to shape their critical thinking regarding the latest research in the field of translation, but also to improve their practical cross-cultural communication skills.
