Course Syllabus

Abstract

Research Seminar "Fundamentals of International Intellectual Property Law" provides the foundational understanding of the international legal framework governing intellectual property rights essential for legal practice in the digital economy. It focuses on key international treaties, conventions and principles regulating copyright, related rights and patents. The course explores mechanisms for the cross-border protection and enforcement of IP rights, alongside a comparative analysis of IP protection in major foreign jurisdictions.

  • The objectives of this course are: • familiarizing students with the main international copyright treaties. • studying and analyzing the legal framework of certain foreign jurisdictions in the field of intellectual property. • developing a conceptual framework. • familiarizing students with current copyright law regulation at the international and national levels. • explaining the legal nature of the international regulation of intellectual property, including copyright (related) law and industrial property. • developing skills in applying national legislation and international treaties in practical activities.
