Course Syllabus
Abstract
This course introduces the student to the dimensions of international business. It covers globalization dynamics and international trade theories, government influence on international business, international monetary and financial environment, the effects of cultural differences in global business, various forms of international business organizations and strategies. It discusses the methods used in international business and transacting business across national boundaries. The role and impact of strategy and organization, market opportunities assessment on international business transactions are covered.
Learning Objectives
- Understand how economic, political, legal, technological, and social factors affect cross border operations of companies.
- Use different market entry modes, evaluate risks and opportunities to develop internationalization strategies for the business.
- Recognize and adapt strategies to diverse cultural contexts, evaluate business ethics and sustainability principles in international business.

- Define and explain key theories and concepts in international business management, such as trade theories, foreign direct investment, and global supply chains.

Assessment Elements
- Seminar 1For seminar assignments, students will work in teams. Teams are formed randomly by the instructor at the beginning of the seminar. Each team may include up to 5 students. Students must be present in the classroom; arrivals 15 minutes late or more are not counted as attendance.

- ExamFinal written exam (not meant to be open book or group work) will include multiple choice, open-ended questions and will be timed.
