Abstract

Preparation and defence of Project Proposal in English (hereinafter - PP) is an integral part of the preparation of the Bachelor’s thesis and is mandatory for all students, regardless of whether the discipline "Academic Writing in English" is included in the Individual Study Plan or not. This exam checks the students’ readiness for oral presentation and defence of the results of academic research on the topic of their final qualifying work in English. A written abstract/ review of the literature studied is admission to the oral exam. The grade for PP appears in the graduation document. The preparation and defence of PP include: writing a PP and its subsequent defence. A PP is a summary of general ideas and the main parameters of the final qualifying work prepared by students. The qualifying work is done by the end of the fourth year in accordance with the procedure approved by the educational programme. The defence of PP consists of a presentation and answers to questions from the panel of examiners. The presentation is a summary of the student's research project with the justification of the choice of topic, statement of the aim and objectives, research methods, planned and/or obtained results using a slide presentation. At the end of the presentation, the members of the examination panel ask the student questions about the presented research and other questions connected with the scientific field being studied.
