Course Syllabus
Abstract
Academic discipline “English for Specific Purposes. Information Technology and Computer Security” is implemented in the third year of the educational program "Cyber Security". The discipline is aimed at the development of professionally oriented foreign language communicative competence in English in the field of “Computer Security” (Upper-Intermediate proficiency level); moreover, the course is aimed at the development of academic skills required for the use of English in educational, scientific and professional purposes, further graduate and postgraduate studies, and also carrying out research in a given area. The course implies the study of relevant topics in the field of information technology and computer security, and the development of listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in English. During the course, a number of controlling elements are provided, including presentations, grammatical and lexical tests and summary. There are no blocking elements. Exams are held at the end of the 1st and 3rd modules. The final grade comprises the following elements: Independent work * 0.2 + Continuous assessment 0.15 + Tests* 0.25 + Oral exam* 0.4

- The purpose of the discipline "English for Specific Purposes. IT and Cyber Security" is the formation of professionally oriented foreign language communicative competence in English in the field of "Cyber Security" at the Upper-Intermediate - Advanced levels.
