Abstract
The Research Seminar "Thesis Preparation Skills" provides a structured framework to support the bachelor thesis completion process. The course is designed to systematically guide students through the development, research, and writing stages of a thesis. The seminar format focuses on the practical application of research principles, from formulating a research question to constructing a formal academic argument.
Learning Objectives
- To guide students systematically through the process of developing, researching, writing, and defending a high-quality bachelor thesis. The seminar provides a structured framework, peer support, and expert feedback to ensure academic rigor and successful completion.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Articulate the purpose, scope, and various types of a bachelor thesis
- Evaluate the credibility and relevance of information sources using established criteria
- Synthesize the findings from multiple sources to identify overarching themes, debates, and gaps within a body of literature
- Formulate a justified plan for data collection and analysis that is directly aligned with their chosen methodology and research questions
- Apply effective delivery techniques for oral presentation
- Design a compelling presentation narrative that logically distills the thesis
- Formulate clear and concise responses to critical questions that defend methodological choices and articulate the contribution of their work
