Abstract
The course "International Law" is a comprehensive study of legal norms and principles governing relations between states and other subjects of international law. This course is aimed at familiarizing students with the main institutions and mechanisms of the international legal order, as well as the history of its development, structure and functional aspects.
The course covers key topics such as sources of international law, major international organizations and their role in maintaining peace and security, norms and rules governing international relations, as well as human rights and humanitarian law. Students study both the general principles of international law and specific areas such as international trade law, environmental law, maritime law and criminal law.
The course pays special attention to the analysis of the practice of international courts and tribunals, which allows students to understand how international law is applied in practice. During seminars and practical classes, students have the opportunity to participate in simulated court proceedings, which helps them develop their skills in argumentation, critical analysis and public speaking. The course "International Law" not only deepens students' knowledge of the international legal system, but also forms their understanding of the importance of legal norms for maintaining global stability and justice, and contributes to the development of skills necessary for working in international organizations, the diplomatic service and human rights structures. This provides students with the necessary theoretical and practical basis for future professional activity in the field of law and international relations.
