Abstract

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency markets, and the evolving landscape of digital assets. It blends theoretical foundations with practical insights, examining key features of blockchain, the mechanics of cryptocurrency trading, and emerging financial instruments like crypto derivatives. Through a combination of core textbooks, academic literature, and industry reports, the course equips participants with a robust understanding of the complex and rapidly evolving cryptocurrency ecosystem. The course extensively draws on the research of Professor Kirill Shakhnov, particularly in the areas of cryptocurrency returns, regulation spillovers, and market inefficiencies.
