Course Syllabus

Abstract

This course is designed for those students who do not have experience in learning Russian as a Foreign Language. When mastering the discipline «Russian 1", the student will obtain basic knowledge of the vocabulary and grammar of the Russian language, develop the basic language skills of writing, reading, listening and speaking.

Learning Objectives

• The formation and development of foreign language communicative competence at the basic level (ТБУ) of the international exam in Russian as a foreign language, and implying the student's readiness and ability to engage in everyday communication in Russian in any communicative situations and academic communication in the simplest communicative situations.

Expected Learning Outcomes

• Participate in a simple conversation in Russian, including those typical in the academic communication sphere.
• Understand individual ideas, fragments, and sentences of oral and written texts in Russian, including those typical of the academic communication sphere.
• Create simple short oral and written texts in Russian, clearly expressing thoughts using mainly simple sentences.

• Section 4. Actions, Results, and Social Interaction

Assessment Elements

• Classroom Work
  This assessment component evaluates the student's use of a foreign language to solve various communicative tasks during direct interaction between the teacher and students in the classroom, including based on prepared homework.
• Current Control Module 1
  Current control is conducted in an in-class format and includes 8 to 10 elements. The final grade is the arithmetic mean of all current assessment elements. The final grade is not rounded.
• Current Control Module 2
  Current assessment is conducted in an in-class format and includes 8 to 10 elements. The final grade is the arithmetic mean of all current assessment elements. The final grade is not rounded.
• Current Control Module 3
  Current assessment is conducted in an in-class format and includes 10 to 12 elements. The final grade is the arithmetic mean of all current assessment elements. The final grade is not rounded.
• Current Control Module 4
  Current control is conducted in an auditorium format and includes 10 to 12 elements. The final grade is the arithmetic mean of all current assessment elements. The final grade is not rounded.
• Final Written Work
  This assessment element evaluates the student's level of lexical and grammatical skills, listening and reading skills, and proficiency in written speech for solving various communicative tasks.
• Oral Exam
  This assessment component evaluates the student's level of oral proficiency in solving various communicative tasks
