Course Syllabus

Abstract

This course is taught in Chinese and is aimed at developing students’ systematic understanding of China’s communicative culture and the specific features of intercultural interaction with representatives of Chinese society. The course covers the theoretical foundations of verbal and non-verbal communication, the key principles of Chinese speech etiquette, norms of business communication, professional self-presentation, protocol, and non-verbal behavior. Special attention is given to the analysis of communicative situations, the identification of intercultural barriers, the preparation of résumés and professional profiles using digital tools, as well as the development of strategies for effective academic, business, and professional interaction with Chinese partners.

  • To possess skills of Solving communication tasks using non-verbal language in situations of tea ceremony, in Chinese restaurant, in European restaurant, and at a buffet.
