Course Syllabus
Abstract
Analysis and study of the application of modern digital technologies to supply chain management and logistics activities and how these technologies change the supply chain management. We cover different technologies in the course and dive deeper to understand how they work and are implemented in companies' supply chains - for example, blockchain, 3d printing, geo analytics and so on
Learning Objectives
- The purpose of the course is to analyze the technologies which transform the SCM concept in digital SCM. The process of digital transformation of economics makes it valuable to be able to understand and apply new toolkit provided by information technologies
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Formulate the main directions of digital transformation affecting SCM development
- Explains how the blockchain technology works
- Develops generic simulation models of logistics systems using blockchain technology as one of its components
- Compare machine learning models. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of using solutions based on them
- Explains the principles of 3D printing technology
- Develops optimization models of logistics systems using SNO software
- Compares the impact of different digital technologies on supply chain operations in business simulator environment

Assessment Elements
- TestThe exam is held in the computer class at a designated time. Questions are posted in SmartLMS, which must be accessed by the student from a work computer (in the computer class) using the SafeExam browser. This is a blocking exam. Receiving a failing grade on the exam means receiving a failing grade for the course, even if the accumulated grade is sufficient. A calculator and one A5 sheet of paper with handwritten formulas are permitted. The use of AI is prohibited.
- HomeworksCompletion of homework assignments according to the given criteria. Homework assignments can be individual and team assignments. AI is prohibited unless otherwise stated
- Activities on lecturesMaking tasks at lecturers, lecture oral activity, reflections and so on
- AttendanceAttendance on lectures and seminars
- Seminars tasksCompletion of assignments in the seminars according to the established criteria. It is also possible to complete small assignments after the seminars on the seminar topic.
