Abstract

This course explores the integration of digital tools and technologies in language teaching and learning. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively utilize various digital instruments to enhance language acquisition in diverse educational contexts. Throughout the course, students will examine a range of digital resources, including language learning apps, online platforms, multimedia content, and interactive tools. They will engage in hands-on activities that allow them to design lesson plans, create teaching and assessment materials, and evaluate the effectiveness of different technologies in facilitating language learning. Key topics will include the pedagogical theories underpinning digital language education, communication and engagement in online teaching, and the ways to enhance one's digital literacy. By the end of the course, students will be able to critically assess and select appropriate digital instruments for language teaching, create engaging digital content, and reflect on their own technology-mediated teaching practices. The pre-requisites for the course are the basic knowledge of language teaching methods and access to technology as the course is taught online.
