Abstract

Public Speaking in the Business Context is a discipline focused on developing essential oral communication skills for professional success. The course aims to equip students with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely in various business settings, enhancing their overall career trajectory. Students will learn and practice techniques for effective presentations, handling nervousness, and connecting with audiences through verbal and non-verbal communication. The curriculum also emphasizes adapting messages for business audiences.   • Public Speaking Module 1
    Module 1 prepares students for delivering an informative speech and persuasive speech.
  • Public Speaking Module 2
    In this module students will learn how to deliver speeches for special occasions and how to participate in negotiations effectively.

    Students deliver an informative busines presentation referring to various visual data.

    Students deliver a persuasive speech applying storytelling, voice, and body language tools.

  • non-blocking Negotiations
    The "Negotiations" activity immerses students in simulated business negotiations, leveraging their public speaking skills to practice preparation, persuasive delivery, active listening, and adaptive rhetoric for win-win outcomes.

    Test assesses the knowledge of the theory of successful public speaking.

    Students deliver a presentation of a given format in a given context.
