Abstract
Abstract. The main purpose of the course "International Energy Markets" is to form a system of students' knowledge about the mechanisms and conditions of conducting international energy business; the state, problems, quantitative guidelines and prospects for the development of the economy of the fuel and energy sector as a whole and separately by major segments (oil, gas, coal industry) in the world.The discipline "International Energy Markets" is an integral element of the system of economic education in universities, as it develops a system of knowledge necessary for scientific research and practical work among economists. Knowledge of the patterns and quantitative indicators of the fuel and energy complex in the economy, the specifics of the functioning of the main energy markets, the peculiarities of pricing and taxation, investment project management, energy policy of countries and regions of the world are necessary for the training of specialists in accordance with the basic educational program.The course includes the study of the current state and trends in the development of the global energy market. The specifics of the functioning of markets, the role of international organizations and TNCs, the economy of individual sectors of the energy industry, as well as the importance and ways to ensure energy security of the leading countries of the world will also be considered in detail.
